World Trade Organization

Founded in 1995 with 166 active members today, the World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only international organization that facilitates international trade routes, rules, and disputes. Its primary goal is to ensure smooth trade, improve accessibility, and enhance the welfare of the international community, regardless of financial status. The new economic era brings uncertainty and international challenges. Issues from global resources to climate change have a clear fiscal link, and the WTO must address them as a collective to implement effective change. At MarkMUN 2026, the WTO committee will delve into two major topics: Building Trade Capacity in Developing Countries and Trade and Environment. In this committee, delegates will work toward equitable and realistic solutions that support developing countries in global trade, sustainable development, and environmental protection in global trade matters. This committee invites delegates of all levels to create valuable conversations and resolutions for a better economic world, and will allow them to exercise their negotiation and problem-solving skills with real-world topics.
