  • Model UN is a simulation style roleplay of the United Nations Assemblies, Specialized Agencies, and Fictional organizations with interactive elements called ‘Crisis’. Each committee has its own topic, with students acting as ‘delegates’ and taking on the role of either a country or a character depending on the committee.

  • Markham Model United Nations (MarkMUN) is Markham’s largest Model UN conference. It spans two days and is held annually in the fall. MarkMUN began in 2024 as a collaboration between students from St. Augustine Catholic High School and Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School, and since then, has extended to delegates both Canadian and international.

  • Yes! MarkMUN is 100% Beginner-friendly. Any delegates who have not attended a conference before are more than welcome to join!

  • MarkMUN 2026 is set for the tentative date of November 21st - 22nd, 2026. The venue will be decided further down the line.

  • Students from grades 6 - 12 are welcome to attend as a delegate regardless of Model UN experience. High school students grades 9 - 12 are welcome to apply as staff.

  • The Dress Code for MarkMUN for both staff and delegates is WBA (Western Business Attire). This includes dress shirts and pants, blazers, dress shoes, etc. For more information, feel free to access the guide here.

  • Refunds for the conference will only be offered for those who register during Early Bird and Regular registration. Those who need a refund will only receive 50% of the amount they paid, regardless of when they signed up.
